This is Chris Lester. He is a journalist currently imprisoned in a
small cell by political revolutionaries in the country of Libabwe.
His cell is cold and damp. He is alone and chained 24 hours a day to a
reporting on the struggle for a new government when he went to interview a group
of political leaders. As he was being driven back to his hotel in the city of Nirovia the car was
stopped and he was dragged out and kidnapped by armed
Chris has found an old computer in the room in which he is being
kept. It has a slow 9.6 kbps modem which, after Chris managed to connect the computer to a light bulb socket, he

Chris has found some very old email software on the hard disk of the
computer. To hasten his rescue, Chris needs to get his picture which he has on a USB flash drive and some
textual information sent to Amnesty International.

The problem is that the email software limits Chris to only 12 kilobytes of

them below. The picture needs to be published in a newspaper so the quality must be reasonable but it does not
need to be particularly big.
When you have successfully attached the information, use Word or Open Office to produce a brief report to
explain the limitations and problems Chris would have had in sending the
